Tricity Garden Guide
Tricity refers to combination of Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali. Chandigarh is a union territory, capital of Punjab and Haryana. It is also known as city beautiful because of its cleanliness, greenery and well-maintained sectors. Chandigarh is India’s first planned city. There are total 47 sectors in Chandigarh. Each sector is self-contained unit with its own market, school and parks.
Like Chandigarh Panchkula is a planned city with 39 sectors each sector having its own market, parks, and schools. Panchkula is a city in Haryana that shares a border with Punjab, Himachal, and Chandigarh.

Rose Garden
Rose garden, as the name suggests, is known for its rarest and exquisite variety of roses. It is located in central Chandigarh sector 16. It has over 40,000 rose beds and 1500 different varieties of roses. Every spring in the month of Feb, the rose festival is conducted.
This is a popular tourist spot, especially during spring when the colorful flowers are blooming. People from all over India visit to cherish full bloom and colorful roses. Not only that, but locals also often visit this place because it has a nice jogging track and fountains. This combination makes it a perfect place for rejuvenation.
Garden of Silence
Garden of silence is another great option which is located near Chandigarh’s iconic Sukhna Lake. It has a statue of Buddha which represents peace and harmony. The Statue of Buddha is sitting in Dhyana Mudra representing meditation position. People of Chandigarh come here for peaceful walks and early morning meditation.
For tourists visiting Sukhna Lake, this park becomes an icing on the cake. This is because the lake already has a very peaceful vibe, and this garden further intensifies it with its meditative ambiance.
Japanese Garden
This a very unique garden in Chandigarh which is located in sector 31. This park is unique because it is inspired by Japanese architecture. If you are looking for a unique experience then this is the place for you because it consists of pagoda towers, waterfalls, and a meditation center. Furthermore, it has two phases, phase 1 and phase 2 and both are connected by tunnel. To enhance the beauty of this passage, the tunnel is decorated by beautiful Japanese paintings.
Garden of Fragrance
This is another queue garden which is located in Chandigarh sector 36B. The garden has a beautiful landscape and a diversity of plants, flowers, and trees. This garden is home to many birds and squirrels, they live there without any fear from humans. Botanical Garden
Botanical Garden is a unique place which is located in Panjab University Chandigarh. Astonishingly, it has nearly 200 species of trees, and a cactus house with more than 100 species of cacti. Isn’t that mind-blowing? The great part is, because this place is in a university offering botanical study, hence many students come here to study and enjoy nature. This garden has rare and heritage trees because of which the entry is restricted for general people.
Cactus garden
Cactus Garden, as the name suggests is a park which is dedicated to showcasing different variety of cactus. A lot of people do not know this, this park is Asia’s largest cactus garden located in Panchkula Sector 5. It covers 2500 species of cacti and succulents having medicinal value. Every year in the month of March a cactus show is organized wherein people can visit and enjoy this plant.
Valley Garden
Because we are talking about tricity, then how can we leave Mohali behind? So Valley Garden is a popular lush green park that is located in sector 62 Mohali. This park is popular amongst the locals because it has a big jogging track and an open-air gym which is great for working out in the open air. However, if you just want to enjoy nature, this park has a wide range of trees and plants that will soothe your mind.
Conclusion
Chandigarh is known as the city of gardens for a reason: every sector has a number of gardens in this city. The same is the case with Panchkula and Mohali that has lush green parks full of trees and plants. Although all cities have malls, deep within us, we all prefer to spend our time in natural places.
This is something that other cities of India should learn from the Tricity area, which has maintained its natural spaces, despite being modern and developed.
